TRUST AT LAW UNITED

Trust Centre

Clear standards for judgment intelligence, professional verification, privacy, safety and corrections.

Effective 20 August 2026Public methodologyVersion 1.0

Essential distinction: Law United summaries are automatically processed research aids unless a page expressly states that it was individually reviewed. The signed court judgment is the controlling source, and nothing on Law United is legal advice.

1. Our purpose

Law United combines public legal information with a professional network for India’s legal community. We aim to make important decisions easier to discover and understand while preserving a clear path to the linked source material.

Trust requires accurate labels, honest feature states, proportionate verification and clear responsibility. We do not invent membership figures, testimonials, listings or professional credentials.

2. Judgment Desk standards

Each published Judgment Desk briefing should identify the case, court, decision date and source material; separate the holding from commentary; preserve source references; and link to the official or supplied judgment where available.

  • Plain-language headline: states the legal development without sensationalism.
  • Structured analysis: distinguishes facts, arguments, reasoning, holding, outcome and practical implications.
  • Source navigation: citation numbers take readers to the matching source entry; external documents open through a separate source action.
  • Reader notice: explains that the summary is informational and the signed judgment controls.

Material corrections should be made promptly and reflected transparently. A source becoming unavailable does not turn a secondary summary into the official record.

3. What verification means

LabelWhat it meansWhat it does not mean
Email verifiedThe member controlled the email verification route used for the account.Professional status or identity has not necessarily been checked.
Google sign-inGoogle authenticated the connected account under its own process.Law United has not thereby verified legal credentials.
Identity reviewedLaw United reviewed the identity evidence required by its then-current process. This is not an endorsement of work quality.
Advocate credentials checkedSubmitted professional details were reviewed against the evidence or source stated in the badge information. It is not a guarantee of continuing enrolment, practising status or good standing unless expressly stated and rechecked.
Firm or institution verifiedControl or authorised representation of the organisation was reviewed.Every employee, claim or publication is not automatically verified.

Badges should disclose what was reviewed and, where practical, the review date. Authentication and professional verification are separate states.

4. Automation and editorial responsibility

The current Judgment Desk imports controlled source files and automatically structures and publishes their supplied briefing content. These items do not receive item-by-item human legal review unless the page expressly says otherwise. Automation must never be presented as independent judicial or professional authority.

Transport markers and source metadata used by import systems are rendered as semantic headings, paragraphs, tables, callouts and citations; they must never appear as unexplained raw formatting in the reader. Readers should verify every material proposition against the linked signed judgment.

5. Privacy and security

Law United uses safeguards intended to reduce unauthorised access and abuse, including encrypted transport, restricted services, rate limits, session controls, access checks, isolated storage paths, backups and security monitoring. Public descriptions deliberately avoid operational detail that would weaken those safeguards.

No internet service can promise absolute security. Members should use a unique password, protect their email or Google account, and never publish privileged, court-restricted, client-confidential or unnecessary sensitive material. See the Privacy Policy for data practices.

6. Professional community standards

Members are responsible for ensuring that their content and conduct respect client confidentiality, privilege, court restrictions, intellectual property, applicable law and professional obligations. Impersonation, fabricated credentials, harassment, unlawful solicitation, deceptive sponsored placement and manipulation of professional rankings are not acceptable.

Reporting and moderation should be proportionate, documented and open to correction. Private messages are not described as end-to-end encrypted unless that protection is actually implemented.

7. Corrections and reports

Reports should identify the page, the specific concern and a reliable supporting source. Do not send passwords, privileged files or unnecessary personal data. Law United may preserve relevant records while investigating abuse, security incidents or legal complaints.

Email: grievance@lawunited.in

For a security report, use the subject line “Security” and provide the minimum detail needed to reproduce the concern. Do not access another person’s data, disrupt the service or conduct destructive testing.

8. Feature maturity

Unavailable or experimental features should be labelled honestly and should not occupy primary navigation as though they were complete. Empty directories should provide a truthful next step rather than fabricated content. Feature availability may change while Law United develops, tests and secures the service.
