About the role
Role Overview
The role supports OnGrid’s operations across legal, contractual, compliance, and regulatory matters, working with leadership, commercial and product teams, and external stakeholders. It requires strong contract management skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage customer agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), data processing agreements (DPAs), partnership agreements, terms of use, and privacy policies.
- Provide practical legal advice and support commercial transactions in collaboration with business teams.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle, including execution, tracking, renewals, amendments, and closure of agreements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with business operations.
- Support compliance initiatives related to corporate governance, data privacy, information security, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on their business impact.
- Coordinate with external counsel on legal notices, disputes, litigation matters, and regulatory filings when required.
- Assist in developing internal legal processes, templates, and governance frameworks to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure business decisions align with legal and compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- LL.B. degree from a recognized university.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and contract management.
- Sound understanding of contract law, commercial law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent legal drafting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills and a willingness to learn.
Additional Details
- Prior experience in technology, SaaS, fintech, regtech, KYC, verification, or compliance-driven businesses is an advantage.
