About the role
Role Overview
Provide legal business services support to multinational clients, focusing on commercial contracting, contract lifecycle management, regulatory and corporate event responses, and engagement delivery. The role includes leading client engagements, improving processes, coordinating across functions, and managing a team to deliver high-quality legal business services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver contract lifecycle management (CLM) engagements end to end.
- Support drafting and negotiation of playbook-based buy-side and sales-side commercial contracts, including MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, work orders, and change notes.
- Lead the transition and setup of service delivery teams.
- Identify process and operational efficiencies within clients’ corporate legal contracting functions.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to govern, measure, and track client engagements, and report against them.
- Assist with proposal preparation and review.
- Manage engagement administration, including document collection, data entry, tracking, records organization, contract review, and client logistics coordination.
- Review and project-manage the contracting process, coordinating with finance, legal, commercial, business, delivery, and other stakeholders and incorporating their feedback to help close contracts.
- Research technical and industry-specific issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients and engagement management at all levels.
- Balance multiple projects and responsibilities while pursuing continuous service, technology, and process improvements.
- Lead a team of 3–5 people.
- Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding new hires for client engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Legal training, such as LL.B., BA LL.B., or equivalent.
- Strong substantive understanding of in-house contracting processes and contract lifecycle management tools.
- 8-10yearsofrelevantlegalexperienceoralternativelegalserviceindustry experience
- Familiarity with legal technology and its application to contract lifecycle management.
- Strong Microsoft Office and other technology skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts of moderate complexity.
- Experience with legal services requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Familiarity with commercial agreements such as NDAs, SOWs, MSAs, distribution agreements, and licence agreements.
- Ability to work virtually.
- Preferred: Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Management Professional certification.
- Strong interpersonal and people-management skills, communication and collaboration skills, client presentation skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and willingness to learn new IT platforms and software.
Additional Details
- The role supports the engagement lifecycle from opportunity pursuit through service delivery and identification of opportunities to expand client services.
- The position works with Legal Business Services managers and senior managers and interacts mainly with US and global team members, as applicable.
- Shift timings are 11 AM to 8 PM IST.
