About the role
Role Overview
The role involves independently managing corporate legal matters, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising internal departments, identifying and mitigating legal risks, and supporting compliance and dispute-related matters. It also includes handling international legal requirements, particularly those involving the United States and the United Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including master service agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and employment contracts.
- Manage day-to-day legal operations and provide legal support to internal departments.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks, particularly those concerning liability, indemnification, intellectual property, and data protection.
- Ensure compliance with applicable corporate laws, labour laws, and data privacy regulations.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance, HR, Operations, external legal advisers, and senior management.
- Develop and improve legal policies, standard agreements, and compliance processes.
- Handle legal notices, disputes, recovery matters, and litigation coordination.
- Support international legal matters, particularly those involving the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as other legal requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- LL.B. degree from a three-year or five-year programme.
- Five years of experience in corporate legal matters, commercial contracts, and compliance.
- Experience with a reputed law firm or an in-house legal team, preferably in the IT industry.
- Strong expertise in commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
- Sound knowledge of corporate law, contract law, labour law, and data privacy regulations, including GDPR and DPDP.
- Ability to independently handle legal matters and provide business-oriented solutions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, risk assessment, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in IT consulting, IT services, technology, or SaaS companies, particularly handling international contracts, is preferred.
